Originally from the state of Alaska, Dr. McBride is a Licensed Psychologist and founder of Polaris Psychological Wellness. When not performing therapy he teaches graduate and undergraduate students psychology and counseling at a local university. He is currently the Co-Chair of the Arizona Psychological Association Ethics Committee.
Prior to his work in the field of psychology Dr. McBride worked for several years as an Emergency Medical Technician on the streets of Las Vegas. His work exposed him to the pain of mental and physical trauma, substance use and addiction, grief, and self-harm. His experience in the field continues to inform his practice of therapy.
As a former first responder Dr. McBride maintains a passion for working with those who are committed to helping others even though it comes with great personal risk. Police, Fire Fighters, Paramedics, EMTs, Nurses, and Doctors often have unique needs. Dr. McBride tries to stay connected with these groups to help stave off the dangers of burnout and vicarious trauma.
Dr. McBride is currently expanding his practice into the treatment of sexual problems and disorders for individuals and couples.
Most forms of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona are Accepted
Cash pay clients are accepted as well
Dr. McBride is currently accepting new clients for his practice. He primarily works with adolescents and adults.
